More on the human hardware

Virtually, almost all medical systems are focused on human hardware. Food is accepted by most systems as the prime source of health and illness and so the maximum focus generally is on nutrition. From the field to our mouth, food is under the purview of food sciences. From our mouth to the cell, nutrition is in charge and from our cells onwards is the domain of metabolism. Accepting that the role of nutrition is important, we should not ignore the other areas of sciences focusing on other areas of the human hardware.

When we talk about the body hardware, we can think about physical culture, biochemistry, anatomy and physiology and think in those terms about health and illness and the remedies. In these lines, we can discuss the nutritional needs and imbalances and how to correct them, biochemical structures and its variations and its remedies and the gross anatomical structures and its integrity and solutions for maintaining that state. When there is an attack by microbes we can think about antimicrobial therapies.

We tend to forget that we are quantum beings at the subatomic level and at a large scale, we obey the rules of classical physics. As we think about what is tangible in our physical world, we should not ignore the intangible forces that act on the body. Good examples are gravity, electromagnetism and some forms of light energies. These forces are constantly with us and when we change one or more parameters, knowingly or unknowingly, we might be forced to reckon with the consequences. This brings in focus the science of biophysics.

In my case, I want to explore the proven and hypothesized methodologies by which I can bring a positive outcome to chronic diseases including cancers.

We can think about the following when we consider the human hardware:

Western medicine

Siddha Vaidya

Ayurveda,

Natural Medicines or herbal medicine

Genetic Techniques and Gene Manipulations and editing.

Metabolic medicine

Biophysics

I would like to expand this list as time progresses and at least one blog about each of these sciences. My goal is to explore each of these medical systems to see how each one can be of assistance to heal disorders and to promote human health, starting with Western medicine.
