Toxins cause normal cells to change and sometimes turn malignant, so cleansing protocols aimed at reducing the stress load of the body are favorable to a healthy existence. A reduction of external toxic load, a reduction of internal toxic load and intracellular optimization are the aims of cleansing protocols. A reduction of general and specific toxic load spares mitochondrial toxicity along with toxicity to other microscopic organelles. Let us explore quickly the different cleansing methodologies that I use regularly. As you know the systemic and cellular energy loss due to degraded mitochondria can be a prelude to cancers.
Poorva Karma. Ayurveda uses this methodology to cleanse at the skin level. Poorvakarma uses mainly Snehana or oil application and swedana or sweating. This package is all about external cleansing and is performed as a prelude to an internal cleanses.
Pancha Karma: This is the package for internal cleansing. Starting at the nose and going down the intestinal tract, important organs are cleansed with a Panchakarma. The sinuses that guard the nasal passage is one prime area that can be a hub of toxins due to chronic infection with endotoxins and chronic inflammation. Next in line is the stomach with vomiting protocols. After the stomach is the small intestine with purgations. The last therapy is for the large intestines and nutritive and evacuation enemas are prescribed.
Sauna Protocols: High heat is not all about just sweating. It is also about penetration of heat deep into the body tissues, boosting mitochondrial functions. Of Course, sweating is associated with the release of toxins and this effect assists kidney functions. Sweating is the activation of the third kidney, the skin, culminating in a reduction of serum urea and serum creatinine.
Internal Detoxification: This is aimed at cleansing the tissue and cellular space. The microvasculature is also an important space for toxin accumulation. The deep heat, in addition to dislodging the toxins, will also lubricate the mitochondrial mechanisms.
Coffee enema is a simple step to continuously reduce the intestinal toxin load. A state of cellular energy can degrade the functions of almost all cells that use an abundance of energy. This means the functions of liver and kidneys are also downgraded resulting in a lowering of detoxification and excretion. An enema is a quick part time solution, that lowers the total intestinal toxin load. This also means that less toxins will be reabsorbed from the intestine back in the circulation.
Edta suppositories are generally made by mixing EDTA, a synthetic amino acid that combines with many harmful heavy metals and that combination, excreted out. This path is a safe one with no intravenous injection or loss at first pass to the liver.
Bath Protocols: Skin is an organ with the largest surface area which offers an ideal space for toxins to leach out. When appropriate herbal decoctions or other substances such as mud or salt solutions are used in the bath, depending on what is used, the results will differ.
Body Masques: This is a concentrated version of the bath protocol. Instead of a large quantity of liquids, a paste made with less water or solvent is used. The paste is applied over the skin for a sufficiently large time to effect a toxin release.
Foot Bath: This is a localized version of the bath protocol and can be attempted by anyone anywhere, with minimum equipment. Even a bucket will be enough equipment.
As you see, the detoxification methods are simple and can be done or applied at home and with almost no external help except PanchaKarma that requires professional assistance.
